NECON is an annual convention that is limited to less than 250 people each year (primarily authors and publishers)
and is one of the genre's best-kept secrets, having hosted such authors such as Stephen King, Peter Straub, Neil Gaiman, Jack Ketchum, F. Paul Wilson, Jonathan Carroll, Thomas Tessier, Elizabeth Massie, and many others on a regular basis.
In 2000, to celebrate Necon's 20th anniversary, they issued a special trade paperback program for the guest that featured many rare items (fiction, nonfiction, and artwork) from many of the past 20 years' guests. Includes the first appearance of Stephen King's "The Old Dude's Ticker" (a collaboration of sorts with Edgar Allan Poe).
This book is nearly impossible to come by. It was never made available for sale - only 333 copies exist (it was only for the convention attendees and contributors and sponsors).
